“The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a professional display,” said Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman. “As you gather with family and friends this holiday, please avoid the use of consumer fireworks and instead, enjoy Howard County’s July 4th Festival and Fireworks celebration at the Columbia Lakefront. We hope to see you there.”
If you do choose to purchase legal fireworks, be diligent as even sparklers can reach 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. There were over 11,000 injuries due to fireworks in 2016.
Be safe and have a wonderful 4th.
