The Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department will hold its
annual Open House on Saturday, October 15th, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at Fire
Station #2, 4150 Montgomery Road, Ellicott City, MD 21043. Visitors, both
children and adults, can enjoy some food and fun, while they collect some
useful public safety information. Children can use a real fire hose or carry a
dummy in one of our Junior Firefighter Challenge activities, they can explore
the fire trucks, and even have their faces painted.
Parents interested in obtaining identification cards for their
children can get them from Ident-A-Kid at this event. We will also offer blood pressure checks, vehicle
rescue and fire extinguisher demonstrations, and tours of the fire station.
Visitors will have opportunities to meet and talk to the men and women
responding to fire and rescue emergencies in our community. If you find the
firefighter with a boot collecting contributions, and decide to make a
donation while you’re visiting, we would certainly appreciate it, but the event
is free to the public. We hope you can make it!
