At 1905hrs on 9/13/18 units from Ellicott City VFD were dispatched to a reported basement fire at 9016 Barn Hill Ct in Ellicott City. Chief 2 (E. Deklau) had command, Engine 81 (Lt. Blood) arrived second due and assisted Engine 82 with fire attack, Ambulance 26 (Sgt. Ralston) provided on scene EMS coverage and Brush 87 responded to provide additional staffing for Engine 81. Units operated in the offensive mode to control the basement fire for approximately 2.5hrs before returning to service. While Chief 2, E81, B87 and A26 were operating on the working incident, an off duty crew responded to Station 2 to staff E21 until station 2 units returned to quarters.
