On behalf of the Ellicott City Volunteer Firemen's' Association (ECVFA), we regret to announce the passing of Mr. Thomas F. Merson. Mr. Merson passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021. He was a former member of the Elkridge VFD prior to joining Ellicott City VFA in 1959.

Mr. Merson joined the Ellicott City Volunteer Firemen’s Association on 6/3/1959, where he rose through the ranks as FF; Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief. He also served on both the Board of Directors at Ellicott City and the Fire & Rescue Services Board for the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

Friends may call at St. John Episcopal Church, 9120 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, MD 21042, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the church on Thursday June 17, 2021 at 11 am. Face masks are required at all times in the church. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Merson’s name may be directed to the church at the above address.
