Shortly after 10:30 pm on Monday, May 8, 2023, firefighters from Ellicott City and surrounding firehouses were alerted to a reported apartment fire in the 5000 block of Columbia Rd.

Engine 22, clearing a nearby medical call, quickly arrived to find fire showing from the third and fourth floors and through the roof.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes, and there were no reported injuries.

Volunteers responded to Station 2 and placed E21 in service during the incident to cover other emergencies. CF2A covered the area as a command officer.
