During the afternoon and evening of October 29, crews from Ellicott City joined the other volunteer corporations at the training academy for SIREN (Simulated Incident Response Evolution Night) Training. The goal of the training was for units to respond to simulated incidents just as they would in the real world. Crews were faced with everything from medicals and accidents to structure fires and confined space rescues. The staff at Howard County's Public Safety Training Center played the roles of both victims and instructors. All crews who attended were able to get in some very good training as well as working with other companies. Ellicott City was able to staff Engine 81 and Ambulance 86. The ECVFD would like to thank the staff at the PSTC for putting on the training and look forward to doing it again in the future. Photos are credited to Doug Walton, DFRS and members of the ECVFD.
