Be aware, we have been made aware of a telephone solicitation scam. An individual called “Aaron Barnes” is calling stating he is from “Heroes United”, a national non-profit for volunteer firefighters. He advises he is soliciting donations for the families of firefighters killed or injured in the line of duty and that he is sanctioned by the Maryland State Firefighters Association (MFSA).

The MFSA does not sanction this organization or any other to conduct any telephone solicitations in its name.

The Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department does not conduct any telephone solicitations in its name.
