In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS professionals and the important work they do in our nation's communities. We want to honor the dedication of our volunteers who give their time for the community.
The Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department (ECVFD) takes pride in providing advanced & basic life support services to the Ellicott City area. Regardless of the nature of the EMS incident, ECVFD is committed to delivering the highest level of care in responding to calls for service . We do not do this because we have to — we do it because it is the right thing to do for our community.
